Courchevel is amidst the stunning scenery in Les TroisVallees 'TroisVallees' or '3 Valleys'.
The ski area encompasses the resorts of Courchevel, Meribel, Les Menuiresand Val Thorens and offers a huge variety of skiing on widely differing terrain. The Three Valleys skiing includes over 600(!) kilometres of pisted runs and reputedly one of the most efficient ski lift systems ever built with some of the best groomed slopes in Europe.
Courchevel and the Three Valleys is renowned for its many and varied runs, suitable for every standard of skier - beginners to experts. Many of these runs are tree lined making it a very picturesque ski resort as well as being useful in snowy weather.
With over 200 ski lifts the scope is unlimited. When the weather conditions are right, touring Les Trois Vallees across to Meribel, Mottaret, Val Thorens and Les Menuires offers an exhilarating day skiing. The Grand Couloir in Courchevel is thought to be one of the ten most challenging runs in the world. The deep powder and steep black runs will also give enjoyment to the best of skiers. There are also a huge amount of green and blue runs for those who are less experienced.
Courchevel itself is split into 5 different areas. The higher areas are named after the height (in metres) at which they are based, Courchevel 1550, Courchevel 1650 and Courchevel 1850 and the 2 lower areas are Le Praz and La Tania (both at 1300m).
Our luxurious Chalet 'Chasseforet' is located in Courchevel 1850. Courchevel 1850 is the highest of the 5 villages of Courchevel, and with skiing as high as 2738 metres on the Sauliremountain, the skiing and boarding season lasts from early December until the end of April. Courchevel 1850 has an international reputation as one of the very smartest resorts, and there is certainly plenty of shopping and nightlife for those that need more than just a vast skiing terrain.
